Hello MOSP parents,
The Marine Habitat projects are coming together nicely. The kids have been working hard on them and the habitats are looking great! The projects are due on Thursday May 21 (my last Thursday with the class) and as our time together to work on the projects is dwindling, it may be necessary to complete the written component at home. I have attached the assignment for your reference (see the doc, "Create a Marine Habitat" in the link above). Please review it with your child. The assessment criteria was class-generated and your child has a copy of it in their science duo tang. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks, Kathryn.
Friday May 1 notes:
1. Students will bring their Kayak Reflection #4 home this weekend. Parents, please sign the assignment to verify that you have seen their work + my assessment and comments. This must be brought back on Monday (Blue Group) because students will use all their kayak reflections for the MOSP multimedia presentation which half the class will create on iPads while half the class paddles on Trip # 5 (May 4 for Green group; May 11 for Blue group).
2. EcoPaddling: our day trip to Tod Inlet takes place in 2 weeks, on Friday May 15. More than half the class still must bring in Permission Slips & waivers. Please complete & return ASAP!
3. Lit Circles: Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief: students must have at least one assignment from all 6 Lit. Circle roles by next Tuesday's Lit Circles meetings. Use the Lit Circles Roles package to find descriptions of your job for each role: Discussion director, Literary Luminary, Character Captain, Vocabulary Enricher, Researcher and Connector. Due: Tuesday May 5.
4. Spelling assignment. 10 sentences based on Unit 9 words (dictated today) due next Tuesday.
5. Spell-a-thon pledge sheet (fundraiser for amphitheater) sent home today.
