Please write a formal letter to one of our ecoPaddling teachers from today's wonderful trip to SnidCel (pronounced 'Sneek-with'; a.k.a. Tod Inlet).
Nikki Wright was the teacher of the Watershed Model & dock dredging.
Richard Elliot was our First Nations canoeing instructor; and
Judith was our Ethnobotany instructor at the restoration garden by the factory building ruins.
Format: Your letter should be in Personal Letter Format. Include the following, with spacing between each:
At top of page: date & your address
Salutation ("Dear ______")
Each paragraph (your choice how many paragraphs) separated by a line
Closing salutation, ("Yours sincerely," OR "Yours truly," OR another closing of your choice) followed by your full name
Content: Your letter will include:
- tell the story of your day -- include as much detail as possible so your teacher knows what kind of day you had. Minimum 3 things that happened at that teacher's station; minimum 1 detail about each of the other stations. But the more detail the better.
- a special moment during the day about you and a plant or an animal (or both) of your choice.
- something you didn't know before but now you understand better
- some wisdom, that is, advice passed on from your teacher on how to be a good steward in our world
- *Thank you to this teacher!
Style: This should be your best work. This should be a pleasure to read, without poor spelling and punctuation distracting the reader. As you know, I will be giving copies of all these letters to Nikki before the end of June. These letters are for real!
